5 Tips to stay away from negative thoughts

“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.” – Willie Nelson

Our Mind is always working, it’s like a continuous running machine. it works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no matter where we are sleeping, working, or eating. So it is obvious that sometimes we have Negative thoughts that do not help us to grow, but if we back up those negative thoughts and give them space in our mind, they drag us to our lowest level. Often times, we do things well, but suddenly a negative thought such as fear of failure can manipulate us and we become so afraid that we stop doing what we need to do.

It is part of human nature to think about the negative and overlook the positive. Negative and positive thinking is part of the process that our mind generates when evaluating things.

The question is why do we become insecure and start living with negative thoughts? Isn’t it a general problem with everyone? But even so, how can we overcome negative thinking? so below are 5 few points that help us to stay away from negative thoughts:

1. distancing yourself from negativity and not taking things ‘personally’

when someone is spreading negativity and actively negative, it has absolutely everything to do with them and nothing to do with you. You may notice that the person in question makes negative comments about everyone. So no matter what you do or don’t do, you will be a talking point for them. so it’s best to ignore the person bringing negativity and move on.

Also, when you are trusting someone else to tell you who you are, rather than trusting what you know to be true about yourself; what really defines you as a person without any external influence. In essence, taking things personally keeps you tied to another person and, in the extreme, can even make you feel like a victim. so don’t take things personally and be practical.

“You can never win an argument with a negative person. they only hear what suits them and listen only to respond.”

2. you cannot please and make everyone happy

It is very important not to indulge yourself in praiseworthy acts to please someone to stays in their good books. be honest but also diplomatic, and never indulge in sycophancy, and do not put your self-respect on the line, it is not necessary. every human being is different, just like you. we get a life to count on our properties and not become someone’s mirror. don’t try to give fake pleasure, but it also doesn’t mean being vocal and talking rude, it’s often not appreciated. So come up with your own polite technique to let someone know where they are going wrong instead of saying yes when they talk and act negatively.

“You can’t be afraid of what people are going to say, because you’re never going to make everyone happy.” Selena Gomez

3. Do not compare yourself with others

Stop cursing yourself by constantly comparing yourself to people who are more successful than you. Always remember that each and everyone is different and that God has given each person a different goal and a different role in their life to pursue. So why compare yourself to others?

Always remember that you are stuck in a situation where your mind continually revolves around that single negative thought. it’s because you have an inferiority complex. you feel like a loser and instead of practicing positive habits and working hard, you choose to become naturally lethargic and start feeling worthless. Remember that time changes, today you can be a loser but always believe that one day the sun will rise on your side, so never lose hope. Make your life purposeful, not without purposeless.

“Don’t compare yourself with others. That’s when you start to lose confidence in yourself.” – Will Smith

4. Keep yourself Busy

One of the best ways to stay away from negativity is to try to stay busy as much as possible. Don’t give yourself time to contemplate anything. To keep busy, you can practice a few things:

a) speak to yourself – No matter in which situation you are, how negative you are feeling from inside. You should always speak what you really want.

b) Surround yourself with positive people – Negative people always have thousands of reasons why something can’t happen. Also, positive people will help you realize why this is possible.

c) Reading – Read the biography of famous people of the world. There you will get to know about their hardships, how they overcame them and achieved their goals.

d) Practice yoga and meditation – it can be one of the tools to get rid of unhealthy thoughts. Initially, you may face some problems, but over time the effect of these thoughts will diminish and they will soon disappear.

“Keep yourself busy if you want to avoid Depression. for me, inactivity is the enemy.” – Matt Lucas

5. Be open with your challenges

When you stand in a circle and know that it doesn’t help you grow, you actually allow your thoughts to produce negativity. Accepting the challenges that you think are keeping you from being successful opens the door to breakthroughs and the hidden opportunities that surround you. Running away from your problems without facing the real problem only slows down the healing process.

accept your challenges means to acknowledge what you’re experiencing. Most people run away from their problems or stuff under the carpet believing they will disappear — out of mind out of sight they say. Yet, what you stow away is likely to build energy and come back to trouble you later, when you least expect it.

“Don’t be afraid to take on big challenges. They give the best rewards.” – Spencer Christensen

You cannot control the presence of thought, but you can choose whether or not you will dwell on it and whether or not you will allow it to control your conscious thought. However, when you allow false negative thoughts to run your life, you have a problem.
A thought needs the energy to survive. When you pay attention to a particular thought, you are supplying it with energy. Now, stop paying unnecessary attention to negative thoughts. Let them come and let them go. You, as a third person, keep watching them. Don’t get anxious if they come continually. Be positive and always remember the following saying listed below.
